A pile of Pokéshit.

I loved yesterday's Penny Arcade comic, Pokémorality . Naturally, I haven't played anything of Pokémon White or Black , but I did used to be a raging PokéNerd in middle and even a bit in high school. I always used to scoffed--and even still do sometimes--at Professor Oak's lil poké-speech he'd give after you beat the Elite Four and RivalFace. He'd go on and on and on  about how RivalFace had lost because he didn't love his pokémon; he'd used them as a means to an end, they were, to him, a means of winning and had not earned their love and trust. As for me, Oak would go on to say, I had won because of the love and care I had raised my pokés with. That was a pile of raging pokéshit, and we all knew it. Much like Gabe in this Penny Arcade comic, we taught our pokés to hate, we taught them to win!!! As with almost any game character--especially such replaceable, interchangeable, undying game sprites as these buggers--our compassion and morality ...

A quick aside--

--mysteriously enough, I posted a short rant/comment on an article on my tumblr . Why I posted it there I may never know. Actually it's probably because I'm still figuring tumblr out. Anyway, I want to half-retract my comment. It was more of a question, I guess. Anyway it's the part where I was saying Like, i get the point about SEO [gaming]. That makes sense, but what I’m not so clear on is what he means by “discovery”. Sure, this “navigation” complaint is fair and I guess probably true in a number of ways; but what’s this lost enigma of “discovery”? and how has it been lost? See, I'm still not sure exactly what he means in the broader sense, but I've definitely had a taste of google getting "gamed". Half the time I search around for torrents of some of the more obscure (bad) movies I wanna watch, I'll get 3 different versions of the same scam-ish torrent site/database. I'm sure they're great when what you're looking for is easier to fi...

It has the bacony smell of Canada all over it. (Big Meat Eater)

This week's Bad Movie Monday review is a bit different. Not only has it almost been posted on a Monday--it's Tuesday! :D--but, and brace yourselves, folks, it's a  vlog   This week I reviewed Big Meat Eater. Here's the badmovies.org review and here's a strangely optimistic one explaining all the Canadianness. Oh yeah, kids. This is really happening. Thanks to Parker for his help (ie, slave labor) editing. Hopefully this'll give the review a more...digestible size. Also, prove to everyone I'm fucking weird/sarcastic/awesome. ALSO! Those are not my new glasses. Those were just some smarty-pants reading glasses I wanted to wear because it was the 4th take and I was tired and feeling grouchy.

My apologies. ('MetalStorm', pt 1?)

*sigh.* As I'd somewhat feared, Bad Movie Monday failed; instead I'll throw together a half-assed 'Bad Movie Tuesday' even if the corny name doesn't work the same. As I might as well have also promised the other day, this review might be a little disappointing, too. I ended up having to watch/heckle MetalStorm: The Destruction of Jared-Syn  on my own, which proved to be more than just a little difficult. Don't get me wrong; I imagine this movie could have some really great potential. However, it's a little dry. At least, so much so that I--but one, lone, tired homo--couldn't handle it all on his ownsome. Even despite its having a pneumatic gonorrhea discharging dildoman in the cast of villains.
